Job Summary
Lead custodial operations across all REAL facilities by developing, implementing, and maintaining standardized service delivery models aligned with industry best practices and legislative requirements. Establish training programs, job standards, and SOPs to ensure consistent quality and compliance, while monitoring service levels through inspections, audits, and performance reviews. Collaborate with stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and guest satisfaction, and contribute to organizational success by developing strategies, managing annual budgets, and optimizing resource utilization. Recruit, train, and coach staff while fostering a culture of accountability and safety. This permanent full-time role (Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm) may require answering calls outside regular hours to support evening shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in custodial, facilities, environmental, or operational services
- Experience managing services in a large, complex, and preferably unionized environment
- Knowledge of custodial operations, cleaning practices, waste management, sustainability initiatives, and industry standards
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, improve service delivery, and enhance guest satisfaction
- Experience in workforce planning, scheduling, coaching, and performance management
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments
- Ability to develop innovative solutions that enhance operational effectiveness and the guest experience
- Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
- May be required to answer calls outside of regular business hours and provide guidance to evening shift staff
