Job Summary
Lead global engineering responsibility for the development, standardization, integration, and governance of machine control systems across all Underground Hard Rock product platforms. Own the global controls systems architecture, software integration strategy, and technical governance for UGHR machine platforms including loaders, trucks, drills, bolters, and utility vehicles. Drive harmonization of software, controls, electrical, and automation systems while establishing global software lifecycle management processes, cybersecurity standards, and change management protocols. Lead root cause analysis for critical machine software and systems integration issues affecting product performance and safety. Provide technical leadership for product development programs involving integrated machine systems and mentor engineering personnel to improve global capabilities. Report to the Vice President, Engineering, Hard Rock, with locations in Sudbury, Ontario; Boksburg, South Africa; Gelsenkirchen, Germany; or Tychy, Poland.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering experience in controls, embedded systems, automation technologies, electrical and hydraulic system integration within an OEM or industrial equipment environment
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated ability leading global engineering organizations and cross-functional technical teams
- Experience developing standardized controls platforms and software architectures in a global engineering environment
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capability
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively within a matrix organization
- Strong project and program management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities
- Technical Knowledge of Embedded control systems, Electronic control units (ECUs), Industrial and mobile machine communications, Sensors and instrumentation, Intelligent machine systems, Autonomous equipment technologies, Remote operation systems
- Must be based in one of the following locations Sudbury, Ontario, Canada; Boksburg, South Africa; Gelsenkirchen, Germany; Tychy, Poland
