Job Summary
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation activities for DePuy Synthes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of consolidated financial results. Oversee intercompany eliminations, currency translation, equity accounting, and system consolidations; ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies. Partner with regional and global finance teams to resolve complex accounting issues, review consolidated statements and variance drivers, and support internal and external audits. Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across close and consolidation activities. Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. CPA or equivalent certification and advanced Excel/financial reporting tool proficiency are preferred; experience in global, matrixed environments and in carve-outs or major business transformations is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA (preferred)
- 6-8 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial close, and consolidation roles, including people leadership
- CPA or equivalent certification (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Hands-on experience with consolidation systems and enterprise financial platforms (e.g., Hyperion, OneStream, SAP, or similar)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience partnering with auditors and cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
- Travel up to 10%, primarily domestic
