Job Summary
Analyze claims, utilization, and clinical data to inform strategic initiatives and identify healthcare gaps. Explore structured and unstructured datasets to generate actionable analytics and predictive models using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, and SQL. Develop operational reports and dashboards while partnering cross-functionally to mitigate risk and drive alignment. Serve as a subject matter expert for analytics workflows and data governance, supporting the deployment of scalable AI/ML solutions to improve workflows, administrative efficiencies, and cost-effectiveness. Apply responsible AI principles to automate analytics and accelerate insight generation. This role aligns with a Sr. Decision Scientist position within the Enterprise Women's Health and Genomics team, focusing on advancing clinical quality standards and reducing healthcare costs.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in healthcare analytics, finance, or strategy with 2+ years in data science, machine learning (ML), or applied Natural Language Processing (NLP)
- Experience in clinical analytics environment (preferably relative to women's health and genomics)
- Knowledge of clinical diagnostic and billing coding systems and terminologies (ICD-10, CPT, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of reimbursement models (FFS and value-based care) and claims-based analytics
- Advanced BI and statistical analysis skills with experience in ML platforms
- Experience with PHI handling, compliant with privacy and security laws: HIPAA, etc.
- Proven ability to be proactive, creative, and nimble in their approach to enable success in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and initiatives across a range of topic areas
- Willingness to work within matrixed teams to drive innovation and value but also to continuously adapt as required
- Bachelor's degree in health informatics, biostatistics, computer science, data science mathematics, biomedical informatics, or related—or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for working with large-scale healthcare datasets
- Technical - Aetna Applications/Enterprise Data Warehouse/2-5 Years/Power User
- Technical - Data visualization software (ex. ThoughtSpot, Tableau)
- Master's degree or higher in Health Informatics, Biomedical Informatics, Clinical Informatics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Data Science or AI in a related field is a plus
- Supporting PST business hours is preferred
