Job Summary
Onboarding Manager, Client Accounting Services, leads the end-to-end onboarding lifecycle for new CAS clients—from kickoff to handoff to the recurring service team. Responsibilities include managing project plans with scope, milestones, timelines, and budgets; serving as the single point of contact for onboarding-related questions; identifying risks and resolving issues; reviewing client financials for cleanup and potential out-of-scope work; conducting kickoff meetings to gather required information; implementing and optimizing cloud accounting platforms (QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage Intacct, NetSuite) and integrating third-party tools; designing scalable chart of accounts and month-end close processes; training clients and internal teams; providing initial accounting support during transition; ensuring GAAP-compliant reporting prior to handoff; establishing month-end close checklists and SOPs; collaborating with CAS managers, practice leaders, and IT to ensure seamless transitions; documenting client-specific procedures and configurations; and driving process improvements to increase onboarding efficiency and client satisfaction. Preferred qualifications include CPA license or active candidate, plus experience in managed services or outsourced accounting. Core competencies emphasize client focus, project ownership, tech-savviness, organization, collaboration, and adaptability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5–8 years of accounting or finance experience, including time in a client-facing or multi-client environment
- Demonstrated experience leading accounting system implementations or client migrations
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and ability to prepare or review financial statements
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and/or Sage Intacct; NetSuite and/or Xero experience a plus
- Exceptional project management skills: ability to manage multiple simultaneous onboardings with competing deadlines
- Outstanding communication and relationship management skills — comfortable presenting to C-suite stakeholders
