Job Summary
Leads strategic procurement categories to optimize global supplier performance and drive improvements in quality, cost, logistics, development, and management. Develops and executes worldwide sourcing strategies for Caterpillar’s categories (notably Mexico Unformed Steel), aligns category plans with enterprise objectives, assesses supplier performance, mitigates risk, and communicates market insights to business partners. Manages supplier relationships, applies PCC-based category strategies, and ensures conformance with major certifying agencies. Requires a Bachelor's and a Master’s degree in a related field, advanced English proficiency, and extensive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier management. This role is based in Mexico with an in-office five-day-a-week schedule (Santa Catarina or Nuevo León) and relocation assistance available; visa sponsorship is not available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Economics, International Business, or related field
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Operations, Logistics, Finance, Industrial Engineering or International Business or related to the field
- Advanced English
- Experience in procurement, supplier management, and global sourcing
- Ability to develop and mentor a high performing team
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Experience with category management and supplier relationship management
- Willingness to travel up to 35%
- In-office five days a week in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León, Mexico
