Job Summary
Lead adult, pediatric, and mobile cardiac sonography services by performing echocardiography tests, operating ultrasound equipment, and positioning patients for exams. Ensure all procedures adhere to American Society of Echocardiography and internal safety standards while managing workflow scheduling and policy maintenance. Supervise students, oversee accreditation processes, and facilitate hiring and performance management. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and enterprise standardization efforts. Requires five years of cardiac sonography experience, ARDMS/ARRT/CCI credentialing, and BLS certification. Full-time day shift with 40 weekly hours.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited two-year Cardiac Ultrasound Program
- Minimum of one year equivalent work experience
- Allied health certificate/diploma
- Minimum of five years of cardiac sonography experience
- Credentialed with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- Credentialed with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
- Credentialed with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board
- Valid driver's license
- Good driving record
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to perform echocardiography tests/procedures in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography standards

- Possesses knowledge in cardiac sonography
- Ability to perform echocardiography tests/procedures in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography standards as necessary
- Engages in quality improvement and analysis as well as policy and procedure maintenance
- Responsible for workflow scheduling and maintenance
- Performs administrative roles for the interviewing, hiring, and performance management processes
- Prepares patients for exams by explaining procedures, transferring patients to ultrasound table, applying gel, and positioning patients properly
- When applicable, operates ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of the motion, shape, and composition of blood, organs, tissues, or bodily masses
- Supervise or train students and cardiac sonographers as needed
- Implements or oversees the accreditation process
- Responsible for implementation of efficient workflows, policies, and protocols
- Acts as a professional resource to all staff
- Participates in enterprise standardization
- Adheres to safety and infection control policies established by Sanford
- Adheres to established internal standards and procedures abstracted from health insurance portability and accountability (HIPPA)
- Works in partnership with other healthcare professionals
- Ensures tests/procedures are in accordance with the required and designated standards
- Provides leadership and direction for the clinical and business operation of adult, pediatric, and mobile services
