Job Summary
Manager, Carbon, Commodities & Trade within Westpac’s WIB Financial Crime and Fraud team. Provides first-line financial crime risk advisory support for trade finance, commodities, and carbon markets, ensuring risks are identified and managed in line with the Financial Crime Framework and risk appetite. Partners with business/operations to deliver practical risk solutions, focusing on trade-based financial crime, sanctions, emerging risks, regulatory compliance, and contributing to enterprise initiatives. Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in financial crime risk within trade finance, commodities, or carbon markets, operating in a first-line advisory capacity.
- Strong background conducting risk assessments for complex trade structures, financing arrangements, and new or non-standard products.
- Deep knowledge of trade-based financial crime, sanctions, and emerging risks, with the ability to apply frameworks to complex customer and transaction scenarios.
- Experience designing, enhancing, and implementing controls across trade or commodities portfolios
- Demonstrated ability to partner with business and operations teams to deliver practical and sustainable risk solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and judgement, with the ability to influence decision-making and support senior management through clear risk insights.
