Job Summary
Manager-level opportunity in KPMG’s Business Tax Services Real Estate practice. Lead a portfolio of real estate clients, act as primary contact for internal and external clients, and collaborate within cross-functional teams across audit, tax, and advisory to deliver high-quality tax service and guidance. Oversee financial performance of client engagements (billing, collections, budgets) and contribute to market and business activities growth in High Growth Sectors. Must bring substantial real estate and partnership tax expertise, proficiency in REIT/partnership taxation, and strong research/writing abilities to articulate complex tax concepts. Requires a Bachelor's degree and relevant credentials (CPA/JD/LLM/EA) with potential for credential evolution; demonstrated leadership in managing multiple client engagements and mentoring teams.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five years of recent experience as a tax manager with a public accounting firm
- partnership tax experience in the financial services industry specific to real estate and real estate private equity funds
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
- licensed CPA, JD/LLM or EA, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing
- one year to obtain at least one approved designation if not possessed at hire
- Proficiency in the taxation of REITs, partnerships, and other flow-through entities
- Exceptional skills in reviewing 1120-REIT and 1065 tax returns, including complex partner allocations
- Excellent research and writing skills; knowledge of REIT and partnership tax regulations and ASC 740
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage multiple client engagements and client service teams
