Job Summary
Lead and manage a team of associates in the preparation, review, and electronic filing of Form 5500s for a diverse portfolio of employee benefit plans and direct filing entities. Oversee the gathering, analysis, and interpretation of financial and participant data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal regulations (ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code). Deliver on client needs within the Form 5500 compliance services sector (including Forms 5500, 8955-SSA, 720, 5330). Act as first point of contact for internal teams and external clients/auditors. Facilitate risk and financial performance of engagements (billing, collections, budgets). Monitor evolving Form 5500 requirements and uphold professional, respectful workplace standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Licensed CPA, JD/LLM or EA (or ability to obtain one of the approved designations/credentials)
- Deep understanding of ERISA and IRS regulations related to employee benefit plans
- Minimum five years of recent, relevant experience in employee benefit plan compliance, tax or audit, with at least two years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Proven leadership, project management and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with track record of building client and team relationships
