Manager, Business Reporting and Analysis

Job Summary
Prepare monthly financial advisory and performance management packages highlighting business drivers, opportunities, and risks to support strategic decision-making for RBC's Canadian Life and Health insurance businesses. Conduct deep-dive research into data flows, build documentation to address current-state issues, and design complex product profitability metric reporting to track performance and provide early warnings on trends. Collaborate with the Canadian Insurance Finance team to streamline financial reporting timeliness and accuracy using new technology and processes while delivering actionable analysis to senior management. Fulfill periodic and ad-hoc reporting needs covering actuals, forecasts, plans, and strategic initiatives. This role requires 3–4 days per week on-site attendance at Meadowvale Business Park, Mississauga, and involves building deep knowledge of financial and actuarial data flows.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of insurance industry experience in finance and/or accounting
- Strong analytical skills
- Solid understanding of insurance products
- Experience working with data to generate insights and action plans
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Ability to communicate effectively with business units and present finance data
- Must be able to work 3–4 days per week on-site at Meadowvale Business Park, Mississauga
Desired Qualifications
- CPA designation (or pursuing)
- CFA
- MBA
- Moderate understanding of how actuarial liabilities are developed
- Strong understanding of financial reporting tools and applications (Excel VBA, EPM, TM1/Cognos, PeopleSoft, Tableau)
