Job Summary
Manager, BPMO leads cross-functional delivery within AbbVie’s IR Business Technology Solutions team, driving end-to-end initiatives, annual planning processes (Long-Range Plan, Capital Plan), and reporting. Responsible for process improvements across BPMO and IR workflows, leveraging PMO tools (Clarity, Jira), coordinating resource management, and promoting change management to strengthen IR’s operational performance and value delivery. Builds strategic relationships across IR, Finance, and external partners, supports governance and consistency of standards, and provides coaching to IR colleagues to enable data-driven decision-making and timely insights.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or business field with 7 years’ experience
- Master’s degree with 6 years’ experience
- PhD with 2 years’ experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management, business systems analysis, software deployment, or PMO administration
- Experience leading in a multitask environment as well as in a virtual and matrix organization; operating within broad goals and objectives
- Excellent cross-functional negotiating skills and multi-faceted operational skills
- Proven ability to establish and maintain high-quality relationships with all levels across the company and with external partners
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Demonstrated ability to articulate and negotiate projects and priorities across functions and/or organizations, proven experience in situations of conflict resolution, problem solving and crisis management
- Operate with a big picture perspective, balancing efficiency in task-execution with effectiveness to deliver on enterprise objectives
- Preferred: Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations (FDA/EU) and vendor contracting/strategy experience
