Job Summary
Manager, Business Intelligence role leading SOCAN’s analytics function, overseeing data analysts and data engineers; responsible for defining and delivering the enterprise analytics strategy, aligning data initiatives with business priorities, and ensuring scalable, high-quality data and reporting solutions. Balances hands-on technical leadership with people management, delivery oversight, and platform governance; requires translating complex data environments into actionable business outcomes and collaborating with English-speaking stakeholders outside Quebec. Hybrid work arrangement in Toronto or Montreal with a focus on Databricks/Azure-based analytics platform, governance, dashboards, and data-driven decision support.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering with leadership of analytics functions or teams
- 2+ years of people management experience
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with distributed compute environments such as Spark
- Experience with modern cloud data platforms, particularly Databricks and Azure-based architectures
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and scalable analytics platform design
- Experience defining and executing data strategy, KPI frameworks, data governance, and analytics roadmaps
- Experience delivering enterprise-level reporting and analytics solutions that drive business decisions
- Strong data quality, validation, and monitoring knowledge
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with executive-facing experience
- Strong organizational and operational management skills including scaling initiatives
- Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics) or equivalent experience
