Job Summary
The Manager of Business Development for Nova Scotia Health Innovation Hub leads IDO business development activities by identifying, developing, and managing strategic opportunities with partners from private, public and research sectors. Interfaces with internal clinical departments to mobilize new services and demonstrate innovation thought leadership; engages externally with ecosystem funders, private industry, academia, startups, and government. Provides leadership for quality programs, compliance with legislation and accreditation, and collaborates with education institutions, government and partners to advance health workforce development and research alignment. Strong emphasis on strategic planning, multi-stakeholder project leadership, partnership-building, budget and financial management, data analysis, negotiation, and communication to drive investment and change across health innovation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in relevant discipline with strong business, innovation and/or health foundation is required
- Minimum of five years’ experience in management and supervision of personnel
- Proven track record in partnership-building and investment attraction
- Experience in managing multi-stakeholder initiatives and projects
- Experience in project management principles and implementation
- Knowledge of health care organizations and the health sector
- Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation and decision-making skills
- Experience in engaging, mentoring and empowering teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in data analysis and monitoring quality and performance indicators
- Competencies in budgeting and financial management
- Ability to build engagement among peers and business leaders to support new strategies and change management
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion knowledge is an asset
- Ability to collaborate with education institutions, government and industry partners
- Experience with strategic planning in public institutions
- Experience in stakeholder liaison and management
- Experience in management of personnel and supervisory experience
