Job Summary
Manage departmental priorities to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation and maintenance of all Apotex facility systems while maintaining regulatory compliance. Recruit, train, develop, and manage direct reports, overseeing facility maintenance, repairs, minor renovations, and calibration programs for building systems and manufacturing equipment. Establish priorities for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, assign work to staff and contractors, and ensure all service reports, calibration certificates, and CMMS work orders are documented and approved. Collaborate with Capital Engineering on projects, manage the cost center budget, and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Gemba and Kaizen tools. Support regulatory audits as a Subject Matter Expert and lead performance conversations to foster a high-performance culture.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering Degree / Technologist Diploma (preferably Mechanical) or a Second Class Stationary Engineering Certificate (minimum)
- Post-graduate courses in building systems
- Demonstrated expertise in the field of energy management and large-scale facility management
- Good interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, planning and organizational skills
- Effective communicator and experienced supervisor
- Good knowledge and demonstrated experience with Building Automation Systems
- Minimum (8) years' experience in the management of a large physical plant
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical water systems and GMP systems preferred
