Job Summary
Lead the AW609 Avionic Systems certification program and act as the primary FAA interface to ensure design compliance across avionics systems, equipment, and integration levels. Manage and develop the AW609 Avionics Team, deliver System Certification Plans and associated test plans and reports, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet program objectives. Responsible for budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning, and for guiding cross-geo collaboration between Europe and the US while maintaining day-to-day technical exchanges with airworthiness authorities.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Electrical, Electronics or Aerospace Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience participating in transport-category certification programs (Part 27, Part 25 and/or Part29) including five+ years of technical experience involved in design, test, and analysis of avionics and electrical components and systems for developmental aircraft including cockpit integration expertise
- Project Management experience required
- Strong understanding of avionics equipment and system integration and testing to show compliance to system and certification requirements of safety critical systems; understanding DO-160 environmental qualification practices; DO-178 software development assurance methods (preferred)
- Practical experience with FAA compliance and certification processes
- Strong analytical and design skills with ability to plan, communicate, and execute across a diverse organization
- Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to work in a Cross-Geo environment and travel between Europe and US
- EVMS experience preferred
- Ability to interface with certification authorities and maintain airworthiness relations
