Manager / Asst Manager - IR

Job Summary
Manage and cultivate positive relationships with the workforce, including unionized employees and women workmen, while addressing grievances promptly. Develop, implement, and review IR policies in line with legal requirements and industry best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and the Admin Manager to align HR functions with business objectives. Functionally report to the company-wide HR Head in Pune and administratively report to the Head of Manufacturing in Chennai. Negotiate agreements with Workmen representatives and maintain dialogue to ensure a harmonious environment. Requires 8-10 years of progressive experience in IR & HR within a manufacturing setting, proficiency in Tamil and English, and familiarity with the local Chennai area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in IR & HR matters, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Tamil language and English
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
- Proven experience in developing and implementing IR/HR policies and practices
- Pleasant personality with the ability to maintain composure in challenging situations
- Results-driven with a focus on fostering a positive work culture
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity and experience with the IR situation in the local area (Chennai and its nearby surroundings)
