Job Summary
Manager/Assistant Director role focused on formulating and reviewing policies and legislation governing food trade and product regulation under the Singapore Food Agency’s Food Safety and Security Act. Responsibilities include developing and reviewing import-control policies for food, food-producing animals, and animal feed; framing accreditation, inspection, sampling frameworks, and trade-related fees; translating policy proposals into clear engagement materials; drafting policy submissions and subsidiary legislation in collaboration with AGC; coordinating stakeholder engagement and public consultations; supporting bilateral and multilateral SPS engagements and international trade commitments; and ensuring policy positions are operationally sound across divisions. The role emphasizes analytical policy development, cross-agency collaboration, and clear, evidence-based policy documentation and communications.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in policy development and drafting (>2 years) is required
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in food safety, food trade policy, import regulation, or SPS matters would be an advantage
