Job Summary
Manage day-to-day accounting operations with a focus on strong internal controls and process efficiency. Lead timely month-, quarter-, and year-end close processes while overseeing journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis. Direct accounts payable, fixed asset accounting, and payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly cash forecasts, analyze financial data for actionable insights, and coordinate with external tax departments for yearly packages. Supervise a team of one principal and one staff accountant, providing ongoing coaching and development. Assist with budget and forecast preparation, evaluate cost data, and prepare audit schedules to ensure JSOX compliance. This full-time, hybrid role based in Vernon Hills, Illinois, requires 37.5 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
- 3+ years of experience leading a team
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Great Plains, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms
- A thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and GAAP standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel capabilities
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
