Job Summary
The Manager, AAdvantage Member Strategy leads the monetization and optimization of American Airlines’ loyalty program by translating member feedback and data into actionable insights, guiding mileage earn/burn and transfer strategies, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to maximize member value and program economics. You’ll partner with OneWorld and airline partners to align accrual and redemption rules, develop business cases and financial models to support new initiatives, and monitor industry trends to inform program strategy. The role requires collaborating with Finance, Marketing, Digital, and partner teams to ensure strategic alignment and execution, while analyzing financial statements and program performance to identify opportunities for optimization. Key activities include leading monetization initiatives, evaluating new revenue-generating opportunities, and providing strategic advisory support on earn, burn, and overall program economics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience working with financial statements and financial analysis
- Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Experience in loyalty programs, airline industry, or customer strategy
- Advanced experience with financial modeling and forecasting
- Experience working with large datasets and business intelligence tools
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or similar platforms)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis capabilities
- Knowledge of accounting standards and practices
- Strategic planning and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
