Job Summary
Lead a section of 15-20 systems engineers by instructing, mentoring, and championing agile concepts while managing hiring, development, and retention. Provide daily leadership on program operations, including resource balancing and resolving critical technical issues. Direct performance management through engagement strategies and corrective actions, fostering a collaborative culture that sustains momentum around innovation and inclusion. This 75% direct-charge role focuses on program execution within Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Redondo Beach, CA, alongside a 25% functional management component. The position requires a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off and involves travel on 10% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
- at least 9 years of combined professional / military technical and management experience
- Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
- at least 7 years of combined professional / military technical and management experience
- experience in at least one of the following areas: Operations Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Mission Integration or Model Based Systems Engineering
- experience leading an engineering team or project
- experience working with AGILE/SCRUM Master, MBSE with CAMEO, DODAF 2.0
- experience working with AFSIM Modeling and SIM
- an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- experience working in a SAP/SAR environment
- the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
- U.S. Citizenship

- Ability and desire to provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to direct reports
- Active US Government Top Secret clearance with SSBI, or Active DoD Top Secret with SCI within 4 years of last investigation
