Job Summary
Greet guests, answer product questions, and recommend merchandise to achieve personal sales goals while maintaining store standards. Manage visual displays for categories like denim and shoes, complete register procedures, and handle returns and exchanges. Train and motivate new teammates, assist with recruiting and interviewing, and act as the Store Manager during their absence. Support store operations by completing opening/closing procedures, managing inventory, and addressing emergencies. Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with potential travel to cover other stores. Review Management Trainee assignments weekly and communicate performance feedback to leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, and the day of/day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, based upon store and business needs
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to travel and cover other Stores within District based on business needs
- Ability to recruit, interview, train, review, delegate, schedule, and lead Teammates
- Ability to act as the Store Manager in their absence
- Confidence in handling returns, exchanges and additional operational and Loss Prevention duties in Store Manager's absence
- Immediate ability to handle emergencies in Store Manager's absence, in accordance with Company guidelines
- Ability to effectively use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to accomplish goals
- Ability to set goals and expectations to complete an extensive Management Trainee Program with weekly topics, assignments and reviews
- Ability to establish relationships and excellent communication with Area Manager, District Manager and Corporate Office to assist Store Manager in effective operation of the store
- Ability to accurately and efficiently complete store opening and closing procedures according to Buckle procedures
- Ability to implement Buckle developments with the direction of the Store Manager – Policies, procedures, organizational changes, merchandise offerings
- Ability to complete register balance and bank deposits accurately, daily and on time
- Ability to adhere to Loss Prevention policies and store key controls at all times
- Ability to convey feedback to Store Manager with regard to sales and Teammate performance
- Ability to monitor and maintain adequate inventory of supplies
- Ability to consistently maintain a clean, organized and shoppable store to fulfill Buckle's mission statement
- Ability to communicate store repair needs to Store Manager
- Ability to communicate any policy violations and Teammate or Guest concerns to Store Manager, District Manager, and/or Human Resources in a timely, confidential manner
- Ability to understand and apply the Buckle's Code of Ethics and all Buckle's policies, procedures, and handbooks
- Ability to partner with Store Manager to ensure that all OnBoarding new hire paperwork is promptly and accurately completed
- Ability to prepare to be a Store Manager by collaboratively supervising Teammates in their store location with supervision from store management
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in relevant field of study preferred
