Job Summary
Management Audit and Data Analyst position in the Bronx District Attorney’s Office focused on merging operational auditing with data science to evaluate policy effects on unit performance. Responsibilities include conducting complex operational and management audits, evaluating internal controls for effectiveness and efficiency, examining data and records for compliance, reviewing staff utilization and personnel costs, assessing agency directives and procedures, making recommendations, auditing contractor/vendor compliance, reviewing audit reports for adherence to GAAP principles, verifying data accuracy, drafting analytical reports, and collecting/cleaning large data sets from multiple sources. Preferred skills include data science or statistics background, strong writing and communication, and solid project management in a team setting. The role emphasizes presenting findings and working with agency officials to improve reports and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college; preferred in data science, mathematics/statistics, computer science, or criminal justice, with one year of related experience in systems analysis or audit or five years with high school diploma
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint)
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to present findings in reports and conduct presentations
- Strong project management skills in a team-oriented environment
- Experience in conducting complex operational and management audits; evaluating internal controls; reviewing data and records for compliance; analyzing large datasets; drafting audit reports; and monitoring contract compliance with vendors/consultants
