Job Summary
Management Analyst for the Fire Department responsible for payroll, budgeting, accounting, auditing, and project management; oversees department-wide financial functions including annual budget forecasting, payroll for 118 personnel, pension audit documentation, AP and purchasing processes, billing and revenue operations, FOIA requests, and recruitment/onboarding for seasonal Lifeguards. Performs data analysis, prepares financial and performance reports, coordinates grants, client/vendor communications, and supports inter-departmental initiatives. Requires strong analytical, accounting, and process-improvement skills, experience with budgeting and financial systems, and proficiency in multiple software platforms (e.g., New World ERP, Vector Solutions, Asana, Excel). Responsibilities also include facilitating recruitment logistics, training, and ensuring compliance with CBAs and city policies, with opportunities to present to City Council and collaborate across departments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or substantially similar area
- Three or more years of progressively responsible administrative and analytical work experience. Government or non-profit sector preferred; fire service administration experience ideal.
