Job Summary

Partner with the CFO, Controller, and program leaders to translate complex financial data into actionable insights that drive better organizational decisions. Analyze budgets, grants, and funding requirements while ensuring accurate cost allocation and strict adherence to GAAP, internal controls, and 12 CFR 200 regulations. Leverage advanced Excel, Access, and Power BI skills to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision, identifying process improvements and mitigating financial risks early. Explain intricate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders, building trust across departments to support mission-critical programs for veterans and families in crisis.

Required Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including five (5) years of cost accounting/business analyst experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Strong experience analyzing budgets, grants, funding requirements, and financial reports
  • Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, grant requirements, and applicable regulations
  • Working knowledge of 12 CFR 200
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including intermediate to advanced Excel and Access
  • Experience with accounting software and knowledge of Power BI
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to getting the numbers right
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with minimal supervision
  • The ability to explain complex financial information in a way that makes sense to people who don't live in spreadsheets
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across departments
