Job Summary
Design limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, networking utilities, and databases. Analyze design requirements to determine coding, programming, and integration activities, then execute testing plans, protocols, and documentation while identifying and debugging code issues. Collaborate with internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost-effective solutions, communicating design status and issue resolution progress. Execute test-driven development methodologies using Python, C/C++, and Rust within OpenBMC and Yocto environments. Work independently with moderate supervision to solve common technical problems and integrate AI into development cycles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
- 2+ years of firmware development experience
- In depth knowledge of Python
- In depth knowledge of Linux shell scripts
- In depth knowledge of C/C++
- Experience with memory safe languages such as Rust
- Knowledge of OpenBMC and Yocto build environment
- Knowledge of low level Linux drivers
- Knowledge of low level HW communication protocols such as i2c, i3c, CPLD, GPIO
- Experience using software systems design tools and languages
- Working knowledge of integrating AI into dev and test cycles
- Knowledge of secure SW development life cycle
- Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills
- Designing software systems running on multiple platform types
- Software systems testing methodology, including execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Mastery in English and local language
- Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options
- Working knowledge of Redfish standards
- Exemplify test driven development
- Work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office
