Job Summary
Perform diagnostic mammography exams and operate radiographic equipment to acquire quality diagnostic studies. Position patients, verify two unique patient identifiers, and adhere to MQSA/ACR standards. Communicate clearly with patients and staff, manage workflow to maintain timely exams, participate in radiation safety and QA/QC, document procedures in RIS/PACS, and assist with patient prep and post-procedure care. Requires ARRT Mammography and Radiography licensure, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of experience in radiologic technology and mammography. The role emphasizes independent, precise technique, patient safety, and coordinated teamwork within a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiology Technology
- ARRT Mammography
- ARRT Radiography
- BLS - Instructor
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Rad Tech
- Minimum 1 year experience in Mammography
- Must exhibit excellent communication skills
- Ability to function independently and under pressure while actively participating in a team environment
- Must have the ability to prioritize appropriately
- Must be detail-oriented and capable of multitasking effectively
- Competent in all aspects of Mammography, patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection
- Must understand anatomy and pathology and how they affect the quality of a procedure
