Job Summary

Performs mammography procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values and mission of the organization. Responsibilities include reviewing patient history and physician orders, educating patients about procedures and equipment, preparing/administrating contrast media within scope, monitoring patient condition, assisting with interventional procedures (including fine needle aspiration and needle localization), preparing equipment, selecting exposure factors and imaging parameters, ensuring safety and quality control, reporting equipment malfunctions, complying with MQSA regulations, positioning patients, analyzing imaging results, addressing image quality issues, and transmitting reports. Requires critical thinking, ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, and adherence to QA standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
  • Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Mammography (M) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - or - ARRT-R plus State Provisional Mammographer registration and ARRT-M within 12 months
  • State licensure if required by law
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
