Job Summary
Performs mammography procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards and with UCHealth policies and mission. Reviews patient history and physician orders, educates patients about procedures and exam to ensure understanding, and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope when ordered. Monitors patient condition and responds to changes; may assist physician with interventional procedures including fine needle aspiration and needle localization. Prepares equipment and supplies, selects exposure factors and imaging parameters, and conducts quality control. Ensures MQSA compliance, analyzes results, identifies image quality issues, and communicates findings. Works in a fast-paced, onsite environment with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Mammography (M) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - or - ARRT-R plus State Provisional Mammographer registration and ARRT-M within 12 months.
- State licensure if required by law.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
