Job Summary
Perform Mammographic radiological procedures independently, applying prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic diagnosis while selecting proper technical factors and operating equipment. Transfer and position patients, provide immobilization devices, and process films to facilitate image delivery to the PACS system. Conduct periodic quality control tests, perform QA on images, and assist physicians in administering opaque media while maintaining sterile techniques and safety standards. Assume responsibility for designated areas, delegate authority for routine procedures, and act as acting supervisor when senior staff are absent. Maintain adequate records, conduct research, and participate in annual recertification, HIPAA, and in-service training programs.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma
- graduate of an accredited Radiology program
- Licensed in the State of New York in Diagnostic Radiology
- ARRT Registration
- ARRT Certified in Mammography
- Basic Life Certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association or able to obtain within 3 months of employment
- excellent communications skills
