Job Summary
Perform screening and diagnostic mammography including tomosynthesis in an outpatient setting with a focus on precision and compassionate patient care. Ensure image quality meets MQSA/ACR standards, apply correct exposure parameters, and maintain ALARA principles. Maintain ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) certifications, state license (where applicable), current BLS, and MQSA-required CEUs. Manage workflow independently in a fast-paced environment, verify patient history and identity, explain procedures clearly, and provide patient-centered care to nervous or in-pain patients. Demonstrate strong knowledge of breast anatomy, positioning, digital mammography equipment, RIS, and PACS; complete documentation; participate in QA to keep the facility compliant. Mentor students, contribute to a positive clinical culture, and support career growth within a national imaging network.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required
- ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (M) required
- Valid state radiologic technologist license current (where applicable)
- Current BLS certification
- MQSA compliant — 15 breast CEUs every 3 years maintained
- Initial mammography training documentation complete (25 signed-off exams)
- Tomosynthesis and digital training documentation current
- 1+ year of mammography experience preferred
- Proficiency in digital/tomosynthesis equipment, RIS, and PACS
- Strong patient communication skills — especially in sensitive situations
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently
- Willingness to mentor students and contribute to a positive clinical culture
