Job Summary
Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms, including tomosynthesis, ensuring accurate positioning, optimal compression, and strict adherence to ACR, MQSA, and ALARA protocols. Manage outpatient workflows independently by preparing rooms, performing routine quality assurance, and maintaining equipment while verifying patient identity and explaining procedures with dignity to anxious or painful patients. Maintain ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography, current state licensure, BLS, and 15 breast CEUs every three years, plus proficiency in digital tomosynthesis and RIS/PACS systems. Mentor rotating students on clinical standards and technical precision within a collaborative team environment that prioritizes early detection and patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R)
- ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (M)
- Valid state radiologic technologist license current (where applicable)
- Current BLS certification
- MQSA compliant — 15 breast CEUs every 3 years maintained
- Initial mammography training documentation complete (25 signed-off exams)
- Tomosynthesis and digital training documentation current
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ year of mammography experience preferred
- Proficiency in digital/tomosynthesis equipment, RIS, and PACS
- Strong patient communication skills — especially in sensitive situations
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently
