Job Summary
Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms, including tomosynthesis, ensuring accurate positioning, optimal compression, and precise exposure parameters in compliance with ACR, MQSA, and facility protocols. Deliver high-quality images while verifying patient identity, reviewing medical history, and providing clear explanations to anxious or painful patients. Maintain equipment, conduct routine quality assurance, and manage independent workflows in a busy outpatient environment. Mentor rotating students through hands-on guidance and model technical precision and professionalism.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R)
- ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (M)
- Valid state radiologic technologist license current (where applicable)
- Current BLS certification
- MQSA compliant — 15 breast CEUs every 3 years maintained
- Initial mammography training documentation complete (25 signed-off exams)
- Tomosynthesis and digital training documentation current
- 1+ year of mammography experience preferred
- Proficiency in digital/tomosynthesis equipment, RIS, and PACS
- Strong patient communication skills — especially in sensitive situations
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently
- Willingness to mentor students and contribute to a positive clinical culture
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ year of mammography experience preferred
