Job Summary
Performs breast imaging procedures including screening and diagnostic mammograms, with independent judgement and competency. Assists radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies, assesses patients by review of prior studies to determine screening vs diagnostic status, and covers related departmental duties. Ensures radiation protection per standards with shielding and proper technical factors, and provides clinical instruction to students and staff technologists. Maintains up-to-date knowledge through seminars and readings, and stays aligned with departmental changes. This is a non-management, day-shift full-time role at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, TN, under Prisma Health.
Required Qualifications
- Education - Associate degree in Radiologic Technology
- Two (2) mammography experience
- ARRT-Radiology and ARRT-Mammo Registered
- Registered in Mammography, Ultrasound and/or Bone Density
- SCRQSA certification (Required for team members working in South Carolina)
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Competent in all breast imaging modalities including screening and diagnostic mammograms, ultrasound, stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies
