Job Summary
Obtain optimum quality breast images for radiologist interpretation while performing screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies. Assist radiologists during stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies, and assess patients through review of previous studies and history to determine screening versus diagnostic needs. Provide radiation protection in accordance with proper standards using shielding, collimation, and technical factors that minimize exposure without affecting image quality. Offer clinical instruction to student and staff technologists and stay abreast of organizational updates by checking email on each shift. Perform other duties as assigned and cover other functions in the department as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology
- Two (2) mammography experience
- ARRT-Radiology and ARRT-Mammo Registered
- Registered in Mammography, Ultrasound and/or Bone Density
- SCRQSA certification
- Competent in all breast imaging modalities to include screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasound, stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies
- Basic computer skills
