Mammography Technologist - Per Diem

Job Summary

Conduct daily mammography exams using digital equipment and perform weekly quality control checks per FDA and ACR standards. Assist in training other personnel and students as needed while maintaining patient access during staff absences. Complete ARRT mammography boards within one year and pass required competency assessments. Work weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as assigned under the direction of a Radiologist and Chief Technologist. This role supports the University of Vermont Health System's radiology services.

Required Qualifications

  • Per Diem status
  • Progressive knowledge and sense of responsibility in the daily operations of the mammography area
  • Enough credits in digital mammography to perform exams on all equipment
  • Proficiency in routine and diagnostic mammography exams
  • Ability to perform weekly quality control on the mammography machines as required by the FDA and ACR
  • Ability to perform other radiographic procedures according to established practices and under the direction of a Radiologist, Supervisor and Chief Technologist
  • Pass a mammography competency before performing mammography exams
  • Take the ARRT mammography boards within one year of starting in mammography
  • Ability to assist in training other personnel and students as needed
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and on call duties as assigned
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology approved by CAHEA/JERCT
  • ARRT certified and Licensed or License eligible with the State of Vermont
  • At least 1 year experience as a Radiology technologist
  • Successfully completed all Radiology competencies
