Job Summary
Mammography Technologists are responsible for administering ionizing radiation and performing breast imaging procedures. Responsibilities include preparing and documenting activities related to medications and radiation exposure, ensuring correct order and patient identification, utilizing proper imaging protocols, evaluating images for quality, and performing breast ultrasound procedures as prescribed. Candidates must have certification by the ARRT and a minimum of 5 years related work experience. The role involves educating and monitoring students and other healthcare providers.
Required Qualifications
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) required upon hire
- New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry prior to first day of employment
- Minimum of 5 years-Related work experience (Required)
- Certification by the ARRT in Mammography must be obtained within 12 months of hire
- Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body
- Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree-Related Field of Study (Preferred)
