Job Summary
The Mammography Technologist II performs routine and diagnostic exams pertaining to breast anatomy, breast ultrasound, and bone density. Responsibilities include interfacing with patients to obtain medical histories, providing education on breast self-examination, reviewing patient charts, screening for implants and allergies, and ensuring high-quality imaging for reports. Key qualifications include certification in Mammography, Bone Densitometry, and Breast Ultrasound, as well as experience and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- Registry in Mammography (M)
- Registry in Bone Densitometry (BD) through ARRT or Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist (CBDT) through ISCD
- Registry in Breast Ultrasound (ARRT(BS)) or (ARDMS(BR))
- Complete 40 hours of mammography orientation
- Complete 8 hours of 3D tomosynthesis training (if applicable)
- Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
Desired Qualifications
- Two plus years’ experience in Mammography - preferred
- Two plus years’ experience in Breast Ultrasound - preferred
- Two plus years’ experience in Bone Density - preferred
- Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
- Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
- Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
- Strong communication skills & professional demeanor
