Job Summary
Perform full range of mammography procedures utilizing dedicated and specialized equipment, demonstrating accuracy in technical factors, patient positioning, and film identification. Prepare patients for procedures following established protocols, explain positioning, and monitor safety during exams while providing safe transport. Critique radiographs to recognize normal from abnormal tissue, taking additional required views such as magnification views as needed. Conduct routine quality control of equipment and maintain department cleanliness within infection control guidelines. Educate patients on women's health topics within licensure scope and assist with reception duties or clerical responsibilities as requested.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- 1-2 years experience conducting mammographic exams
- Valid CA Radiologic Technology and ARRT.CA Mammographer certificate
- Current CPR
- Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures and protocols
- Analytical skills necessary to effectively detect pathologies based on physiologic cause and effect of diseases
- High degree of courtesy, tact and poise when interacting with patients, families and coworkers
- Willingness and ability to assist others as requested
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Acute attention to detail
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions

Desired Qualifications
- ARRT (M) preferred
