Job Summary
Perform medically prescribed diagnostic mammographic and bone density procedures while monitoring staff work and facilitating patient flow through the Breast Imaging Center. Schedule exams and appointment times by selecting patient information from the HIS/RIS system in accordance with HIPAA regulations, verifying orders, and conferring with medical staff for clarification. Independently implement patient procedures using standard equipment set-up, utilization, and maintenance protocols, performing visual and manual quality control checks to report malfunctions. Explain procedures to patients, solve examination problems, and alter protocols to maximize information based on patient conditions while following isolation precautions and departmental standards.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- 1+ years experience in radiology
- New York State license to practice Diagnostic Radiology
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Advance Certification in Mammography
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- College graduate
- Two years' experience in Mammographic and quality control procedures
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
