Job Summary
The Registered Mammography Technologist produces high quality breast imaging procedures while following ARRT, ACR, and MQSA guidelines. Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures, assists the radiologist in invasive breast procedures, correlates patient history with procedures, ensures documentation for licensed providers, selects/operates breast imaging equipment and appropriate exposure factors, applies radiation protection and patient-safety principles, provides patient education and discharge instructions, and participates in department quality assessments and improvement plans.
Required Qualifications
- Certification and Registration with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
- Advanced modality registration in Mammography, ARRT (preferred, or must obtain within 1 year)
- State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
- BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
- Education Associate's from an ARRT accredited institute (preferred)
- Work Experience 1 year experience as a registered mammography technologist (preferred)
- Training EPIC EHR (preferred)
- PACS (preferred)
- Active license status and professional development as part of ongoing requirements
