Job Summary
Performs mammography procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Responsibilities include reviewing patient history and physician orders, scheduling, educating patients about procedures and equipment, administering contrast media within scope when ordered, monitoring patient condition, and responding to changes. May assist physicians with interventional procedures such as fine needle aspiration and needle localization. Prepares equipment and supplies, selects exposure factors and imaging parameters, and conducts quality control; ensures MQSA compliance. Analyzes imaging results, addresses image quality issues, re-positions patients as needed, and transmits reports. Works in a fast-paced, supervised or minimally supervised setting. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Mammography (M) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - or - ARRT-R plus State Provisional Mammographer registration and ARRT-M within 12 months
- State licensure if required by law
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. Card must be valid through sixty days of hire.
