Mammography Technologist

Performs mammography procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Responsibilities include reviewing patient history and physician orders, scheduling, educating patients about procedures and equipment, administering contrast media within scope when ordered, monitoring patient condition, and responding to changes. May assist physicians with interventional procedures such as fine needle aspiration and needle localization. Prepares equipment and supplies, selects exposure factors and imaging parameters, and conducts quality control; ensures MQSA compliance. Analyzes imaging results, addresses image quality issues, re-positions patients as needed, and transmits reports. Works in a fast-paced, supervised or minimally supervised setting.
