Job Summary

Perform radiologic mammography exams per department protocol, including advanced procedures like stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, and drainages. Operate mammographic equipment to ensure high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining proper patient identification, order verification, and positioning competency. Adhere to radiation safety guidelines, infection control standards, and sterile techniques throughout patient care. Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address concerns while completing accurate documentation of procedures and adverse reactions. Follow protocols for coding, charging, consents, quality control programs, and reporting equipment failures. Work day shifts from 07:00 to 18:30 depending on assignment.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program of Radiologic Technology
  • Rad Tech license in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • ARRT Mammography or currently attending and receiving formal training to cross-train in mammography
  • Experience in Imaging
  • Experience in Mammography
  • Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
  • Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
  • Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
  • Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Must be available for day shifts that run anywhere from 07:00 to 18:30, depending on the day and assignment
  • Must be able to work in St George, Utah
