Mammography Technologist

Job Summary
Perform diagnostic mammography exams, verify patient identity, and position patients while ensuring radiation safety and regulatory compliance. Operate imaging equipment, troubleshoot systems, and evaluate images for quality before transmitting them to radiologists. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to streamline workflows, maintain exam rooms, and document procedures accurately in electronic health records. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and may cross-train in x-ray, CT, or medical assistant duties. Requires a Kansas LRT license, ARRT credentials, and BLS certification. Bilingual in Spanish or Marshallese preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program
- Current Kansas LRT license
- Current ARRT with a minimum of R.T.(R)(ARRT) credentials
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) within ninety (90) days of hire
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must maintain driving standards- no more than 2 minor or 1 major driving violations within a 3-year lookback period
- Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patient-and employee-base
- Knowledge of radiographic positions, anatomy, physiology, imaging principles, infection prevention, imaging safety practices/procedures, and OSHA safety standards
- Ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining patient safety
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, providing excellent customer service, remaining courteous, respectful, and understanding with patients and family members
- Must be able to maintain good inter-personal relationship with co-workers and other members of the health care team and the organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, PACS, and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Ability to recognize urgent findings and communicate appropriately through established clinical procedures/protocols
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a positive demeanor, professionalism, excellent customer service, remaining organized, managing/prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines, and collaborating as a team
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance to organization's policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
- Advanced clinical judgment, critical thinking, complex problem-solving and decision-making under pressure
- Ability to multitask, managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously, respond to interruptions, and make timely clinical and administrative decisions
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Possesses the ability to effectively engage in interdisciplinary teamwork, and conflict resolution to maintain a professional, collaborative, and efficient environment
Desired Qualifications
- ARRT (M) credential
- Prior work experience as a Mammography Technologist
- Bilingual in Spanish or Marshellese
- Preferably E-Clinical Works (eCW)
