Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic mammography examinations with expertise in anatomical views, pathology, and equipment while managing STAT calls, code blues, and medical alerts. Prioritize assignments, delegate tasks, and analyze workflows to propose efficiency improvements within standardized operating procedures. Ensure patient privacy, communicate sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences, and collaborate with peers to achieve departmental objectives. Maintain proficiency in RIS, LIS, EHR, EPIC, and PACS systems while working autonomously in a team environment with frequent interruptions. Work full-time days (Monday through Friday) in the East Bay Medical Foundation, identifying and solving problems with little or no precedent.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
- CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist
- RHM-Radiology Mammography
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- 8 years recent relevant experience
- Demonstrated specialized expertise in diagnostic mammography principles, procedures, views, and equipment
- Significant experience responding to traumas, code blues, medical alerts, STAT calls, and various hospital emergencies
- Proficient in performing mammography examinations
- In-depth understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people
- Time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline
- Broad knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and related information systems (Radiology (RIS), laboratory (LIS), electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and picture archive and communication system (PACS))
- Ability to prioritize and delegate assignments based on experience, procedures, policies, and best practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
- Ability to identify and analyze data to solve problems that arise with little or no precedent
- Ability to analyze workflow/processes and propose improvements or solutions that improve the efficiency of the team
- Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI)
