Job Summary
Perform mammographic exams on patients as ordered by physicians, selecting appropriate techniques to achieve desired quality. Assist Radiologists with needle localizations, ensuring all necessary records, consents, and supplies are available. Schedule patients for mammograms and follow-up exams as needed, while maintaining departmental records for governmental agency compliance and MQSA policies. Enter exams into the Radiology Information System and PACS, send outside films for comparisons, and assist in facility and equipment maintenance. Comply with established department policies, procedures, and infection control standards. Maintain regular attendance, work 8 to 10 hours a day, and utilize manual dexterity and color definition to ensure near 100% accuracy under pressure.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of accredited program in Radiologic Technology
- Registry with the ARRT in Radiology
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS
- Must be self-motivated
- Ability to work within established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic
- Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day
- Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard
- Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines
- Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing
- Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition
- Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs
- Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces
- Attendance of 50% of all department meetings is required
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
