Job Summary
Under general supervision and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Mammography Supervisor and the Radiologist, performs Mammography and related clerical service duties. Major responsibilities include operating Mammography Equipment and performing exams with adjustments based on patient size/condition using universal protocol and sterile techniques, recording breast history, adhering to departmental policies, documenting in HIS/RIS/PACS/PEN RAD, assisting in other areas, maintaining equipment, staying current with mammography developments, and supporting Quality Control per supervisor. Standard Staffing Level duties include compliance with policies, attending meetings, contributing to Quality Improvement, maintaining safety, and reliable attendance. Requires ARRT mammography and MA licensure, Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, and BLS certification within probationary period.
Required Qualifications
- Registration in both Diagnostic Radiology and Mammography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Licensed by the State of Massachusetts as a mammography technologist
- BLS healthcare provider required before completion of 90 day probationary period
- Level of knowledge equivalent to an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology
