Job Summary
Perform medically prescribed diagnostic mammographic and bone density procedures while serving as the first line interface with patients. Select appropriate patient information from the HIS/RIS system in accordance with HIPAA regulations, schedule exams, and verify orders using standard departmental procedures. Demonstrate skill in equipment setup, utilization, and maintenance, including visual and manual quality control checks. Independently implement patient procedures, explain the process and equipment clearly, and solve problems that arise during examinations using technical knowledge and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- New York State license or temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiology
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Advance Certification in Mammography
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
