Job Summary
Produces mammographic images under clinical direction, obtaining patient history, reviewing radiologist reports, and applying shielding and immobilization devices. Adjusts equipment to control imaging parameters, reviews films for clinically acceptable results, and releases patients. Prepares rooms by gathering supplies and viewing prior images. Applies radiation and patient protection guidelines while providing emotional support and education to patients. Operates and maintains mammographic equipment, participates in quality control activities, and provides instruction in technical skills to staff and students. Must meet MQSA regulations and hold current mammography certification.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet current MQSA (FDA) regulations for a practicing mammographer
- Graduation from an accredited school or program of Radiologic Technology
- Current registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, with up-to-date continuing education credits
- Current advanced certification in Mammography through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Must be mammography registered within 12 months of hire
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of Radiographer and/ or Mammographer experience
