Job Summary
Perform mammography imaging, assess patient situations, and exercise discretion in professional decision-making while minimizing radiation exposure to patients and staff. Obtain pertinent information for physicians to aid diagnosis and treatment, adhering to legal scope of practice and institutional policies. Maintain competence through lifelong learning and self-analysis, completing required CEUs and documented training under direct supervision. This role requires a current Texas license, ARRT registration, and minimum one year of diagnostic technologist experience.
Required Qualifications
- Current State of Texas License as a Radiology Technologist
- ARRT registered in Mammography or registry eligible
- Must pass mammography registry within 12 months of hire date
- 15 mammography direct CEU credit hours in a rolling three-year time period
- 24 CEU credit hours required for ARRT
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a diagnostic technologist
- Documented 40 hours of mammography training
- Completion of 25 exams under direct supervision of an experienced technologist
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear
- Lifting capability limited to 35 lbs for clinical staff
- Lifting capability limited to 50 lbs for non-clinical staff
- Ability to use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with lifts over maximum limits
